How to Help

The Program for Torture Victims provides all services free of charge.  Many of our clients have applied for political asylum in the United States, but until asylum is granted – a process that can take years – these survivors cannot work or obtain assistance. PTV literally becomes their lifeline.  In the past years, we have seen an increasing amount of families depending on us for food and other basic necessities.  Though PTV receives some grant funding for our direct services, we rely on individual donations to help provide emergency aid to clients in need.

Donations

You can make a check or credit-card donation to PTV either through the mail (by downloading and printing our donor card to send with your contribution) or via Network for Good, an online donation site.  All gifts are tax-deductible, and should be made out to Program for Torture Victims.

We also welcome gift cards for practical items such as food, school supplies, and other family-based essentials.  If you wish to donate used clothing, please ensure that it is clean and in good condition.

PTV also welcomes in-kind donations of printing, publicity, equipment, and other office essentials.  If your company provides matching gifts for donations, or supports employee community service projects, please contact Christa Romanosky at cromanosky@ptvla.org.
